All Top Men's and Women's Tennis Stars Announced for Rio 2016 Olympics Tennis Tournaments

Here is the latest Rio 2016 Sports update from the official sources. According to the update, we have come to know that all the top five tennis champions in both men’s and women’s along with the defending champs Serena Williams and Andy Murray have been named for the Rio 2016 Tennis matches that would happen this August. List of Tennis Stars to Compete in Tennis Matches at Rio Olympics 2016

International Tennis Federation (ITF) has finally unveiled the provisional list of all the tennis stars for the Summer Olympics 2016 i.e., on 30th of June 2016, Thursday. The list features all the top five women and men players with names of the stars including the Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Garbine Muguruza, Victoria Azarenka and Angelique Kerber.

A total of 64 players will be competing among each gender for the singles matches. The players that are named in this list have been selected based on the 6th June world rankings along with two invited players in both the tournaments. There has been a limit per country per each gender i.e., only 4 single player from each gender and from each country are allowed and not more than that.

Players List in Doubles and Mixed Doubles Events

Along with the singles, the list of men’s and women’s doubles tournaments has been announced, with the US duos of sisters Serena Williams and Venus and brothers Mike Bryan and Bob all set for defending their Olympic titles. In doubles a total of 32 teams in both men’s and women’s will be competing as per the world ranking entires. Only two doubles teams per each event can be nominated by each country.

Whereas, the mixed doubles entries will be announced in the Rio 2016 at the time of the tennis competitions at the Olympics in which the players will be selected among those competitors taking part in the singles and doubles events. Only two teams per country will be allowed in mixed doubles too.
