African Senegal Champions Confirms Their Final Roaster for Rio 2016 Olympics

With Senegal entering the final stage of their preparation in Dakar the nation’s capital, Moustapha Gaye the head coach has selected 12 athletes for the Rio 2016 Games. After the last week trip for the country Japan, at the time in which they have faced the host country on three different occasions, Gaye the coach has made up his mind.

Right from the starting preliminary team, Gaye has left out the Ndeye Sene, Ramata Daou, Ndeye Khadiatou Dieng and Yacine Diop though that last two of the players will be continuing to be participating along with the squad until the time, the champions of Africa move to the Summer Olympics 2016.

List of 12 Senegal Squad of Africa

The entire 12 players of the African Senegal squad confirmed for the Rio include the Maimouna Diarra, Fatou Dieng, Binetou Dieme, Mame Diodio Diouf, Marie Beatrice Rosche, Aida Fall, Mame Marie Sy, Oumou Kalsoum Toure, Oumoul Thiam, Astou Traore, Lala Wane and Aya Traore. This is a team of five athletes who have been playing all together for over 5 years even though the Marie Beatrice Rosche and Lala Wane were known to represent the debutants or new faces in a squad that is travelling to Rio de Janeiro Brazil Olympics looking forward for competing in the game and to take positives from the competition at the world stage.

There are few leading scorers of the senegal’s squad and the names include the Astou Traore sharpshooter, shooting guard Aya Traore, AfroBasket Women 2015 MVP. In Rio Olympics, the squad is participating in the Group B in addition to the Olympic and world champions such as Spain, USA, Serbia, China and Canada.
