Brazil’s Table Tennis Star Defeats Olympic Champ at Warm-Up Event of Rio

One of the brightest medal forecasts of the table tennis – Brazil’s Hugo Calderano at Rio 2016 has all set the marker for the Table Tennis competition on 10th of July 2016 by defeating Wang Liqin – the four times Olympic medalist of the China by 3 sets to one. In some interesting tournament held at Rio, this Brazilian who is just 20 has appeared and unintimidated at the time of his winning over the 38 year old 3 times world champion veteran liqin who have won 2 gold medals at Olympics in the sports. This tournament is said to be part of the event that has been organized between Olympic Legends v Brazilian Stars by the ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) in the Olympic host city.

Among the huge crowd of nearly 900 people, Hugo Calderano has taken his first set by 11-3. In response to this, Wang Liqin has won in the following set by 11-6 before the support from the home boosted Calderano to success in the following 2 sets. After the match was completed, his Chinese veteran has told that, Calderano was very good and that he had that potential and good future ahead. The present stars and the other Olympic stars of the national team of the Brazil who have participated in this tournament included those athletes Sweden’s Jorgen Persson, Belgian Jean-Michel Saive, and young Brazilians Gustavo Tsuboi and Cazuo Matsumoto.
