It is known that the Spanish champion Rafael Nadal has confirmed his place at Rio and that he is going to Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics. But, as the Olympic Games are going to start in few more days i.e., on 5th August 2016, Nadal who has been scheduled for playing in the singles and mixed doubles with Garbine Muguruza at the time of the opening ceremony of Rio Olympics seems to be not competing in the singles. Check out the complete details given below.

Uncertainty Exists over Rafael Nadal ahead of Rio

30-year old Nadal or the world’s Number four has been forced to get out of the 2016 French Open in the 4th round and then he had not competed in the Wimbledon because of his wrist injury. It is now said that, Nadal was also forced to get out of competing in the singles tournaments after he has cancelled the schedule practice with the Wimbledon star Andy Murray. Though, it is not officially confirmed regarding the Nadal’s participation in Singles, even after many weeks of training for regaining his strength, the doubt that remains still is that at what extent he will be playing for his nation at the Summer 2016 Olympics.

Again as per the latest news, Czech tennis player - Jiri Vesely is the other player from the same nation to miss out the Olympics because of his chest pain. So, now only Lukas Rosol will be only the tennis player of the Czech to go to 2016 Olympic Games with the withdrawal of women's Number2 Karolina Pliskova and Tomas Berdych have been pulled out because of the fear against Zika virus.
