On 6th of July 2016, Wednesday, the final list of the divers who will be competing in the Rio 2016 games and will thrill the people has been confirmed by the international federation for aquatic sports, FINA. The complete list of 135 athletes along with 13 from Great British champion Tom Daley, the China and Jamaican Yona Knight-Wisdom has been revealed by the FINA.
Diving Stars in FINA Diving List Revealed
The star names among this list include the Tom Daley who is a British diving star and prodigy Qian Ren of China who have achieved a score of perfect 10 in individual 10m race on her way to gold at the test event of the Summer Olympics 2016 in the month of February at Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre that has been renovated.
Rio Olympics 2016 Diving Schedule
Here is the schedule of the diving event that will happen at Rio Olympics. As per the official sources, the diving event at Rio will start on 7th of August and will continue till 20th of August 2016. A total of 136 diving athletes will be featuring in this event out of which 88 have been qualified at the Diving World Cup of FINA at Rio which has been doubled as test match. The Chinese who have won 6 gold medals out of 8 available medals in the 2012 London Olympic Games were leading and dominated the test tournaments that were held in Barra Olympic Park and the event being produced by 15 year old Qian. They will be represented by a total of 13 diving champions at the Rio Summer Olympics 2016.
Previous youngster Daley who created sensation in the past Olympics is also said to be competing for the Rio 2016. This 21 year old now has made his debut in Olympics at Beijing during which he was only 14 years old. Now, he is going to compete in August Rio Olympics 2016 for his first gold.
