Rio Olympics 2016's Blue Hockey Pitch to Change the Look of the Game

Unlike the traditional green pitch for the Hockey, the Rio de Janeiro Olympics 2016 had a blue pitch with the white lines at the green boarder in which its aim is to change the look of the game. Added to it, a yellow ball is said to be used in the upcoming competition and we can see the colors of the Brazilian flag there. This blue pitch is going to make the sport more attractive.

As per the defender of the Great Britain - Henry Weir after completing the training session of the practice pitch at the Olympic Hockey Center, he likes playing in the Blue pitch and that it has more of wow factor. He also added that it is very Rio and very flash.

This blue pitch for the hockey has been build after it has made its debut successfully in the 2012 London Olympic Games which is for the first time that this kind of blue pitch has been used in the International hockey event. This move from green to blue pitch has been made in order to draw more and new fans watching it on their Television sets.

The British squad has installed the blue pitch in the Rio style and green pitch in the training in the games preparation. As per the Weir, the turf of the pitch seems to be sharp and plays quick something that would help them sell the game to the Olympic audience present worldwide. He also added that the pitch is playing great.
