USA Squad Faces Challenge from International NBA Players Inspired by Dream Team

According to the recent update, a record number of total 47 national Basketball Association players will be competing at the Rio Olympics Games 2016. Among them, US are having the most of 12 players followed by six players from Australia and five each from France and Brazil.

The country USA has dominated in the men’s basketball since the players NBA have been allowed for participating at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games when the celebrated “Dream Team” is having the great people such as Larry Bird, Earvin 'Magic' Johnson and Michael Jordan.

In Barcelona, many of the opponents of the USA have been in the awe of the squad and having a good reason. In the previous season, only 6 athletes of the other 11 squads combined have played in the NBA. As per the competition manager Paulo Vilas Boas of the basketball game at the Rio 2016 Carioca Arena 1, with the internationalization of this sport, NBA and the international level game have been benefit. Vilas Boas have played for the country Brazil over the Dream Team in the preliminary round at the Barcelona, in which the country USA has won 127-83.

Basketball Teams Playing At Rio and Its Venue

The countries, USA, Australia, Venezuela, China, France and Serbia were known to be playing in group A whereas, Croatia along with Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Nigeria and Lithuania playing the group B. The group phases will be played in a round-robin format i.e., each team in the group will be playing with the other five teams in the group, having the top 4 teams in each group going on to the knock-out phase, which will be having the quarter finals, semi finals, bronze medal games as well as gold medal games. The venue of the basketball game at the Rio 2016 Olympics is Carioca Arena 1 of the Barra Olympic Park.
