Rugby Ball Disclosed for Rio Summer Olympics 2016 Rugby Sevens Tournaments

As Rio Olympics 2016 going to start in few more days and the time moves on for the return of Rugby to the Olympic sports again after many years, World Rugby on 12th of July 2016, Tuesday has revealed the Rugby ball which will be used by both men and women teams at the competition held at Rio 2016 and the image of that ball is as given below. 

As per the schedule released by the Rio for the Rugby return, there are only 25 more days left for it after 92 years of long waiting. It is known that the Women’s teams of Spain and France will be the first athletes to use the Rugby ball after the kick off of the ball at first Olympic tournament since the year 1924 and that will be on 6th of August at 11 AM at Deodoro stadium.

Rugby Ball to Move on Grounds at Rio 2016 Rugby Sevens Matches

It is known that, the Rugby ball has been created especially for the Rugby Sevens which is known to be fastest version of the moving sport that will be played in this Summer Olympics 2016 keeping in view of the iconic Olympic rings as well as the logo of the World Rugby. As the Rugby ball has a changed surface pattern of grip, the distance that is traveled when the ball is kicked is reduced and the handling properties of the ball have been increased which will ensure that the crowd at the Olympic Sports can enjoy this fastest moving game with the Rugby ball that is passed between the athletes with great accuracy as well as speed.

The milestone for this game will come after the coaches of various countries announces their respective nation’s squad for the Rio Summer Olympics 2016. The countries, Canada, Brazil and New Zealand have already confirmed their squads for Rio. Already the complete schedule of the Rugby Sevens matches for both Men’s and Women’s have been confirmed in the last week. In both men’s and women’s tournaments, the 12 sides will be splited in to three pools of 4. And among them, the top two teams from each of the pool along with the best 3rd placed sides will move to the last eight.
