Kaori Icho – The Japanese wrestler has become the first women to win the Olympic gold medals in the four straight Olympic Games by winning 58 kg women’s freestyle event on 17th August 2016, Wednesday night at Rio. Unbeaten Japanese Women Wrestler Kaori Icho
Kaori Icho who has started her journey of historic run at the Athens 2004, came from 2-1 to win the 3-2 with a takedown with less than 5 seconds remaining for beating out the Valeriia Koblova Zholobova of the Russia 3-2 in the Carioca Arena 2. Icho has won 10 world championship gold medals and she was unbeaten for 13 years and in 189 tournaments till January 2016 i.e., when she has lost to Orkhon Purevdorj – the wrestler of Mongolia.
