The 24 year old Elaine has left the main rival of her - Dafne Schippers hesitant in her wake as she has crossed the line which is the season’s best i.e., with 21.78 seconds. The Dutchwoman has completed in 21.88 and the Tori Bowie of the USA has taken the Bronze medal in 22.15. Earlier in the evening, the compatriot of the Thompson, Usain Bolt who is also looking forward to add 200m title to 100m gold that he has won on Sunday has ran the fastest in time in all the three semifinals and 19.78 is his best of the season. Both Thompson as well as the Usain Bolt was aiming for triple gold medals at the Rio Olympics, having the strong chances as part of their relevant 4x100m relay teams. Alongside the Usain Bolt, the Andre de Grasse of the Canada has ran and has recorded the second best time i.e., 19.80 which lead the Jamaican to joke with him that it is not necessary to run that hard before the final event.
