‘Super Saturday’ Champions of Great Britain Ready for Rio Return

London 2012 Olympics will be unforgettable Olympics in the British athletics history as three most popular athletes of the country has won gold medals one after the other in just 44 minutes. Those three champions are said to be competing again at Rio 2016 Olympics in the GB athletics team that has been confirmed on 13th of July 2016, Wednesday. Those three athletes who got the chance again to repeat their success include the Jessica Ennis-Hill who has won gold medal in heptathlon, the legend of long-distance running Mo Farah and long jump star Greg Rutherford.

Team of 80 Strong British Athletes all set to Compete at Rio

It is known that, totally Great Britain named 80 strong champions in the GB athletics team who are on the way to Rio for this August Olympics. Along with those three great medalists of the Britain, the other star of the Super Saturday 32 year old Christine Ohuruogu will be seen in 400m and Robbie Grabarz the 28 year old long jumper who won bronze in 2012 London will also be participating at Rio. Among all these athletics, the veteran Jo Pavey is also participating and this is the fifth Olympics for her till now in 10,000m. Pavey was 42 year old lady who is the mother of two children is a five times Olympian. The lady has won 10,000m at the age of 40 years in 2014 European championship at Zurich.

All these athletes of the British have enjoyed their 12 months of their build-up for this Summer Rio Olympics 2016 with the team winning a total of 7 medals at 2015 Beijing world championships. Last week the entire team has won totally 16 medals in Amsterdam’s European Championships among which five are gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze medals.
